My co-worker very generously gave Cannon the balloons from his anniversary party at work and Cannon put them to good use...he didn't even notice that they were tied to a bag of candy!

Such a Helper!
Cannon is still a little uneasy around the loud lawn mower but his fear took a backseat to his sense of responsibility when he decided to help good ole Dad with the lawn work.

Italy
So Matt and I came across an opportunity to take our first child-free vacation. We settled on Italy. Although the airlines did their best to ruin our vacation with delays, missed connections, lost luggage and theft - we survived. We were able to spend a few days in Rome checking out the sights, drinking and eating. Even surrounded by such history, the high-light of the trip would have to be meeting Tony Parker of the Spurs. It was the most random sighting ever - Matt spotted him in the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City and yes, we used flash photography (a no-no in the chapel) to memorialize the event.

While Cannon was sleeping...
As parents we have learned how to most effectively use "nap time" as demonstrated in the pic below. While Cannon took his afternoon nap (about 1.5 hours) we totally deconstructed the living room - stripped the paneling and the drywall. The insulation was removed and the walls were re-insulated and dry-walled at our next napping opportunity. We did not intend for the project to be so extensive but as anyone with an old house knows, once you start any home-improvement project, you are bound to run into a few surprises.

Did somebody say slide?
Cannon's a sliding pro. It took him a little while to want to slide by himself but now that he's found that independence, there's no turning back to co-sliding.
The playground holds great enjoyment for kids of all ages as demonstrated by Uncle Mitch on the spring duck. Hope you enjoy as much as I did in filming...

Chuck E Cheese

Cannon had been to Chuck E Cheese before but he was a little too young to understand that he was supposed to have fun so we re-visited for Elena's birthday celebration. He was really diggin' the little vehicles like the school bus and the green car with some plastic dude passenger. Cannon wasn't crazy about the motion once a coin was inserted but loved sitting in them and drive, drive, drivin'. He had a great meltdown at the end when we tried to remove him from his favorite car once the line started to build.
