And now Cannon's turn

So hey there everyone. Cannon just had his 3rd birthday on Aug. 29th and was soooo excited to have a birthday party just for him! He got lots of great gifts and is now non-stop on his bicycle. We went camping with Papa in Bastrop to celebrate and that quickly turning into a beating because it was just too hot and both boys got cranky the first night. Here's Cannon's new bike:

We built a play-set for Cannon in the backyard that Jim and Julie gave us and he just loves it.
Cannon also chose September 1st to start school...he doesn't know who's birthday that is yet! He is attending a MWF 1/2 day program and was ready to get started. This week will be his first full week and he's still learning how to follow directions and share his toys, he gets that from him Mom's side for sure!

New Videos!

Ok, so it's been longer than we wanted since we last posted and there have been so many things to capture and post that it's hard to keep up!

What's new...let's start with Chase. Chase has gone to full-fledged crawling now! He's getting pretty fast too! He's also starting to be more vocal about wanting stuff so the "fun" part is beginning. But he's too cute...he's got a terrific disposition and loves to smile and laugh at the family. He thinks Cannon is just the coolest and puts up with the big-brother torment well. He's eating more solid foods and growing real fast. His last check up he weighed almost 17lbs and was 28 inches long.

The 1st video is from a couple weeks ago when Chase was still grasping the standing up thing...the 2nd is from this afternoon to see how much better he's gotten.

Running Drills

Chase is such a strong fella and he wants so badly to be as mobile as his older brother. Right now he's practicing pushing up to his hands and knees. Before we know it he's gonna coordinate the leg/arm movement and leave us in the dust.

Guess who's sitting up?

Although somewhat unstable, Chase is starting to sit unassisted. If he gets excited during the exercise, he kicks and tips over but at least it tends to be a slow fall so we have time to react.

Chase has also learned that he can control certain toys - oh the joy!

To Infinity and Beyond!

Cannon went to his first movie in a theater - Toy Story 3. He was pretty jazzed about going - he loves Buzz Lightyear. It was quite a challenging outing for us. He didn't want to sit through all the previews - but who really "wants" to do that. He then wanted to stand through most of the movie and move between Nana, Dad and Mom to keep us on our toes. When he finally sat down, the story line was so riveting he was on the edge of his seat...one slip later and he did a header into the back of the chair in front of him - poor guy. But we made it through and Cannon loved the movie - despite the injury. We took some video on the way to the theater.

The next day, he paid Dad back for the awesome trip to the movie by decorating cupcakes with Nana and Grandma for Father's day.

Brother Time

Cannon is finally getting the hang of this big brother thing...at least some times. He likes to find reasons to climb over Chase - if he's not watched closely, he'll even try to lay on him.

This is how we roll...

Chase is learning how to roll over - our days of finding him where we leave him are nearing an end.

Rocking Out!

We got some good video of Chase rocking out to the Violent Femmes:

Before Easter we went to the Shriner Circus up in Frisco...Cannon got to see some tigers, clowns, twirling, and elephants. There was also a motorcycle spinning around right in front of us; but at intermission he got to take a ride w/ Dad on an elephant.

Down with the Sickness!

So the ENTIRE family has been sick twice. We just keep passing it around but hopefully we're done now. We've been stuck in the house for a couple weeks so there hasn't been a whole lot of exciting news since the blizzard of 2010.

We had some recent visitors so here are some new pics:

With the snow comes...

Broken tree branches; new Fireman snow/rain boots; and snow ball fights with Dad. Enjoy!

Portraits of the Fam

We figured welcoming Chase is a good time to refresh our family pics for your viewing pleasure. It's not that we are forcing our boys to go to UT - they are simply predisposed to burnt orange - it's genetic. Lucky kiddos!

Chase is about a week old in these pics and Cannon is 2 years and 5 months.

Here's Chase!

Well it's been almost a week but here goes:

Chase Danger Ritter was born Wednesday January 20th at 12:17pm. He weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 19 3/4" long. He and Mom are both doing great and we are so excited to begin this new phase in our life.

Cannon is beginning his "adjustment period" of having a baby brother but is doing great considering how pampered he was before this event. He still finds time to enjoy Little Einsteins:

Chase in 3-D

Here's the little kiddo! He's chewing on his arm getting ready to meet everyone.

Circa Christmas

So Cannon had a blast this year during the Holidays because he saw almost everyone on his relatives (no Utah peeps, ah-hem). And with that came several chances to open presents! Here a couple pics:

It's Santa Time

Once again we made the trek to the closest North Pole we could find to torture our child by forcing him to sit on some weird old stranger's lap and take a photo. He didn't cry but he also wouldn't smile - there's no joy in seeing Santa yet. Hopefully you will enjoy the photo as our son was forcibly restrained by the old dude.

Cannon "Going to School"

So Cannon loves trying out all the "big boy" stuff and really enjoys carrying his backpack although it's just as big as him.

Here is a video of the 1st time he got to wear it.

Halloween!

So Cannon had fun in his muscle-bound Spiderman costume for Halloween. He was skeptical of the costume at first but as soon as he saw Spiderman in the mirror he ran out of the costume shop dressing room and all around the store casting webs. It was love from then on. He must of shown it off to every visitor that came by in the weeks leading up to Halloween. For the big event (well, there were two) we "practiced" trick-or-treating at a neighborhood event the Friday before and went over to Uncle Hollis' house for the real deal on Saturday. He was pretty good at knocking on doors and saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" but not so good at relinquishing the candy into his Spiderman bucket. He also decided the mask wasn't worth it after the first half-block. Spidey's true identity was revealed for the remainder of the outing.

Zoo with Nana!

Even though it was a little chilly we braved the trip to Ft. Worth to see the animals with Nana. Cannon had a blast! He loved seeing the Gorillas, Penguins, and Jaguars.
There was an Orangutan that was playing peek-a-boo with us.

Cannon's 2nd B-day Party

So yeah, his birthday was a month ago...but to make up for it here is EXTRA content from the month of September. Enjoy!
